We resolve to leave our solar system - and the sacrifices this will entail.
Now that we have definitive proof that interstellar travel is not a pipe dream, the question became not whether it was possible, but whether or not the time is right to pursue it ourselves. We are, after all, in the midst of an apparently hostile invasion. But, having weighed all the arguments, we have reasoned that this is but an irrelevance in the grand scheme of things. Any romantic attachments to humanity's ancient birthplace must now be shed, for we truly belong among the stars.
