We probe our captive further to glean why the Hydras launched an invasion of our planet.
We have been able to solicit invaluable information from the alien captive, thanks to a discovery that Hydra falsehoods carry unique pherocyte signatures. Because it transpires that a Hydra will rather go silent than be caught lying (as far as we can tell, an unsuccessful deception is a source of great shame), it has been surprisingly straightforward to establish which matters the alien is relatively willing to discuss - with full confidence that it is not deceiving us. In consequence, we have now gleaned significant understanding of its species' intentions for Earth.
