About Alien Robotics
Alien Robotics is a Terra Invicta project in Xenology with a research cost of 15,000.
We study the array of on-board machines used to maintain the alien craft and its living occupants.
Having gained limited comprehension of the visitors' computers, we have since been able to discern the function, if not yet the operation, of their robotics. These have proven significantly more straightforward to understand than were the computers. Their purpose is relatively familiar: maintenance and construction. The former, as best we can tell, entails ensuring their ships keep flying efficiently, can repair damage without necessitating that their crew endanger themselves, and can automatically adapt to different atmospheric and gravitational conditions. The latter appears to be for the small-scale creation of weapons, ammunition, armor and fuel, to spare the craft and its occupants from the regular need to resupply back at wherever they originate from. In this vein, we have also identified what we believe to be culinary robotics and medical machines - in other words, the craft can provide everything the aliens need to stay alive for potentially indefinite periods. As with the computers, these robotics bear signs of some manner of touch-free interface - our theory remains that aliens can somehow operate them via smell or pheromone alone.
